Greeting to you All & your Family Members. TN&P Asicon 2014 at Chennai is being organised on
a grand scale by the dynamic organizing Chairman Prof. Nagarajan and his team. Workshop with
state of the art devices in General Surgery and Allied Specialities will be a land mark event. The
annual Prof. R. Sarath chandra CME Lectures are to be delivered by seasoned teachers who may
also be examiners for M.S Postgraduates. Five prestigious orations, two elaborate symposia and
invited lectures from International and National faculties all add to the extravaganza.
With a view to accommodate maximum number of scientific papers adequate number of
conference halls have been arranged.
Special added attraction in the field of entertainment for delegates and their family is on the anvil.

Dear Esteemed Colleagues and friends,
Greetings from the Secretariat!!
It is a matter of great pride and honour for me to invite you all as the Secretary of the Chapter to
this mega event of the year for the last time as I will be demitting the office of TN&P ASI Secretary
by August this Year. The 38th Annual Conference of our Chapter will be held at Chennai from
the 7th to 10th of August 2014. The event is being hosted by the Chennai City Branch of ASI. The
Ever Energetic Organizing team with Dr.D.Nagarajan as Chairman, Dr.G .Chandrasekar as
Secretary and Dr. Kumeran Ravindran as Treasurer would do everything possible to make this
happen. I have no doubt that this will be the best conference in the history of TN&P ASI.
The core feature of any Scientific event must be its academic content and I would assure you of the best possible
Scientific programme at Chennai, a City that has produced many ASI Stalwarts and Surgical academicians. The Chennai
City Branch will organize the workshop on the first day of the Conference which will showcase various common and
rare live surgeries. Prof. R.Sarath Chandra CME which will be conducted on the Second day will be of great benefit to
the Post Graduates and Surgeons. The third and fourth day of the event will include five orations, two symposia, invited
lectures by renowned speakers, Prof. B.K.C. Mohan Prasad Quiz Programme fo PG’S, Dr. A.J. Bensam Best poster
Award, Sundaram, GEM and Dr. Jeganathan Best paper awards and free paper presentations.
It is my earnest appeal to request each and every one of you, my Brethren to register for the Conference as early as
possible and be a part of the event. I extend a cordial welcome with open arms to all of you attend, participate and enjoy
the academics with world fame hospitality at Chennai in large numbers.

It gives me an immense pleasure to share our happiness with you all. We the Chennai city branch ASI dedicated
itself for “in pursuit of excellence” Our drive is always focussed for its fair dealings and deliberations with strict
transparency in its business. We the Chennai city ASI have taken the very ambitious and great responsibility
of hosting the state ASI conference ASICON TN & P 2014 at Chennai on August 7 to 10th 2014. We are
targeting the conference, and it should be a “State of Art” it should provide a great knowledge feast for the
younger surgeons. Sharing, transferring of the experience and knowledge of the senior faculties to the budding
Surgeons. We assure that your stay with us are always memorable in your life. Please block the date of August
7 to 10th 2014, in your Annual Monthly Planner. So many Important Agendas are awaiting for your consensus
opinions and deliberations. Many hidden agendas are to be brought to the main stream. Above all our, Tamil
Nadu & Pondicherry ASI unity and its importance, to be shown effectively to the national Stream. Its old
evergreen glory to be registered in the national historical registry with our Join hands of effort. Please make the
event as a successful and historical one. It can be done, only with your good wisdom and co-operations. We
are eagerly waiting to receive you all with warm, pleasant smiles in the conference venue.

Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the organizing committee of the 38th Annual
conference of TN&P ASI 2014, we take great pleasure in
inviting you to attend the conference to be held in Chennai from
7th to 10th August 2014.
It is 75 years since the formation of ASI with its headquarters
in Chennai. In this conference we have planned a variety
of stimulating scientific programs, encompassing recent
advancements in general surgery and minimal invasive
laparoscopic surgery. Workshops on Bariatric and Robotic
surgeries have also been organized. For the first time in TN&P
ASI history, we will be having live telecast of surgeries and telelectures
from various international venues.
The conference is to be centrally located in Chennai and
therefore offers access to both traditional as well as modern
shopping areas /malls and the famous Marina beach. We
also plan to engage your partners in various activities. The
banquet dinner is to be held at Le Meridien, Chennai. We are
sure that TN&P ASICON 2014 conference at Chennai will
be an experience to cherish and live up to every member’s
expectations.
